What does a Computer Lab in a school mean?
A computer lab is a setup or space where an entire class can be taught important concepts like how to use computers and also improve their technology skills
Benefits of Computer skills:
- They can learn to build websites and blogs for sharing their own experiences, thoughts, knowledge, and all.
- They can learn Microsoft Office which includes Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and so on.
- Students can also learn to use the internet in their daily lives. It teaches them how to use the internet, how to join online classes, how to create online email ids, how to make online spreadsheets, and all.
- They can also practice and improve their Hindi, English typing skills.
- They can build their vocabulary strong.
- They can also learn about video conferencing with teachers, online education, and many other educational activities online.
Only about 22 percent of schools in India have the availability of computing devices (desktops or laptops), with rural areas seeing much lower provisioning (18 per cent) than urban areas
Vidya Swecha is in the process of changing it. We installed Computer labs in more than 8 schools and about 60 computers. As our main focus is on Digitizing the government schools that includes computer labs as well. We want children to gain confidence and use technologies for their future growth.
